Welcome to our web site for the Eastern Bypass Study.  We hope you find it informative and useful.

The proposed Eastern Bypass would be a new highway connecting Interstate 74 with Illinois Route 6, east and north of Peoria.  The study we're conducting for the Bypass is intended to achieve several objectives, including:

  • determining the best possible route location for the proposed highway
  • determining the best design concept for the highway
  • identifying its effect on area communities and the natural environment
  • comparing the project's effects to those of not building the project

As the study progresses, this web site will be expanded to include a wide variety of information related to the Study.  Please visit often to access the latest information.
